Bringing your Okinawan teacher online – How we can help
We specialise in arranging and conducting seminars with Okinawan teachers, and livestream those seminars to you and your students, plus recording in HD for future on demand viewing.
We use streaming services including YouTube Live, Zoom, and Facebook Live to broadcast karate lessons to students around the world. The seminar could be exclusive to your students, and you have an easy option to also make the content available via Bujin.tv at a later date via subscription or pay-per-view.
Video Streaming Services
It is possible to stream a karate seminar from an iPhone or from the webcam on your laptop. These are a start, but they have many limitations in video quality, sound quality, camera angles, etc.
By using multiple cameras, multiple microphones and a professional switching system we can provide the viewer with a much better experience. Students will be able to hear and see what is happening more easily. In addition we record each session in 4K producing a professional program which will be a valuable asset to your dojo/school for years to come. Please compare the very high quality of the sample video linked below with the typical smartphone or webcam recorded clips you would usually find on Youtube.
Lastly but certainly not least, in Okinawan dojos there is often a language barrier between the Okinawan sensei and the international students. We eliminate that barrier to understanding as local karateka James Pankiewicz is able to interpret for the teachers during the seminar.
A major broadcast seminar
The Kyudokan seminar took place in August 2021. Students of the Kyudokan from around the world were able to join Higa Koyu for training live from Okinawa on Facebook Live.

For this seminar we used 3 cameras, two microphones, a switcher system, and live interpretation was provided by James Pankiewicz.
Our Team
We are uniquely experienced to provide this service.
James Pankiewicz of Asato Dojo / Bujin.tv is the co-ordinator and acts as the live interpreter. He is bilingual in English / Japanese, 30 years karate training experience, and has deep connections with the Okinawan karate community.
Chris Willson and Yuki Willson of TRAVEL67.com operate the cameras and switcher system. They have many years of experience in photography and now videography when creating the Karate Masters Portrait Project and the Sensei: Masters of Okinawan Karate documentary series.
Pricing
Package 1 – ¥100,000 includes BujinTV distribution
60 minute – 90 minute live seminar to YouTube live.
Livestream can be exclusive (unlisted) or public. Can be a ticket-only event.
HD recording of streamed seminar available as a download.
Bujin.tv receives rights to broadcast the seminar on the platform from a later date (1 month after the live stream). We revenue-share fees back to you every month based on the number of views.
This includes the payment to the sensei’s dojo (¥30,000), equipment, and transportation.
This fee can be easily offset by collecting participation fees for the live seminar. For example, typical fee – 3000 yen ($30) x 40 attendees = 120,000 yen ($1200) ticket revenue. We can assist in marketing your seminar using Bujin.Tv and our social media presence.
Package 2 – ¥150,000 full HD recording with full rights
60 minute – 90 minute live seminar to YouTube live.
Livestream can be exclusive (unlisted) or public.
HD recording of streamed seminar available as a download. You are free to redistribute as you wish.
This includes the payment to the sensei’s dojo (¥30,000), equipment, and transportation.
