Lab Report – Bear test

Harts Chew n' Clean (before)

Hartz Chew n' Clean (before)

Just got a Chew n’ Clean toy for Bear.  A bargain at only 3 bucks.

The Hartz website states: “Our Chew ‘N Clean® Tooth Scrubber™ was developed by veterinarians to promote dental hygiene during chewing. Great for aggressive chewers, these durable multi-material toys are safe and long-lasting and promote hours of chewing. Rotating rubber rings help gently massage gums and clean teeth of plaque and tartar.”

Opened pack, gave to Bear, and thirty seconds later saw this….

I’ve owned these scrubbers and many German Shorthair Pointers for a long time (years infact).
Mine have survived many aggressive chewers and I often put something tasty between the “teeth” if I’m leaving new pups alone and crate training. I think I have about 4 of these around, pretty well chewed but intact.
I sometimes run them through the dishwasher and often find them out in the yard and they’ve survived my mad mower husband.
Maybe you got a faulty one or they don’t make them as well as they used to.
They are terrific for cleaning teeth and stimulating gums.
    Maybe try again.
