Takegawara Onsen is the oldest and the most famous onsen bath in Beppu. For just 100 yen, visitors can strip down, have a wash, then soak in the very hot water.
A must for anyone visiting Beppu.

100 yen? Serious? Even a dingy old neighbourhood sento is more expensive than that.
Yes, it is really 100 yen, unless you want to take a sandbath. Those are 1000 yen. Takegawara is special because of the building, but there are many more really good onsen here. Going to a few onsen is a must when visiting Beppu.
