I didn’t spend that much time with the monkeys this year, but came away with a few good shots. Really pleased with the detail I was getting in the eyes and fur, then a nice drop off into creamy bokeh.
Weather proofing of the body and lens was useful as it was snowing at the time, and the monkeys tended to splash when they were getting in and out of the water.

Innocence covered in snow!
Chris, I originally “found” you by your snow monkey pictures on flickr. These are wonderful as well. Thanks for sharing!
The LONELY SNOW MONKEY picture kicks some serious a@$!! I want that picture on my wall! How many times would I have to wash your car for a print of that?!
Oh these are beautiful captures! I love the brightness, color and clarity of these! AMAZING. I just watched that DVD, I forget what it’s called, LIFE? I think put out by the same people that did Planet Earth, and these monkeys made me kinda sad because they didn’t let the ‘low-class’ monkeys in the hot spring. Did you see that while you were there? Cuz poor little babies were left in the freezing cold. 😦
Yes, the monkeys are always squabbling about who gets to sit where in the bath. There’s quite a lot of screeching, but not as much poo flinging as I had expected.
