I was told that the black skin is done by mixing ash from a wood fire with butter. This is then smeared onto the skin to create the traditional tribal style of the Nomba.

    I have to ask – at the least, the first two pictures are not women, right? Unless they have more stubble than is common among most other human groups.

      Good question Janne. They were called the Nomba Womens Singsing Group, but there were several men in the group.
