I was told that the black skin is done by mixing ash from a wood fire with butter. This is then smeared onto the skin to create the traditional tribal style of the Nomba.

  1. I have to ask – at the least, the first two pictures are not women, right? Unless they have more stubble than is common among most other human groups.

    • Good question Janne. They were called the Nomba Womens Singsing Group, but there were several men in the group.
