Whale Watching in Okinawa – Silkroad Magazine

In March, during the annual migration of humpbacks past Okinawa, I had an article in Dragonair’s Silkroad magazine on whale watching. Only some of the photos are mine as I didn’t have any great whale breaching images for the client, but text and some pics will do this time. The new home / office  looks out from Motobu towards Sesoko Island so hopefully next March I’ll be able to do some whale watching from the garden.

Mother’s Day Bazaar April 25th Kadena USO

On Saturday April 25th (not Sunday 26th), I will be selling prints and chatting to people about photography workshops at the Mother’s Day Bazaar inside the Kadena USO. I’ll have a range of photographs for sale including framed gallery prints that have not been available to purchase previously. I’ll also be answering your photography questions, and introducing the upcoming photography workshops. Stop by the Kadena USO on Saturday and say hello! You never know, you might even find something beautiful for your walls.

Lotus Eclat

Lotus, an iconic British motoring brand. Makers of lightweight sports cars including classics such as the Esprit and Elise. The most famous Lotus was the white submersible driven by Bond several decades ago, but they are still building amazing vehicles and competing in F1. Rudding Park Hotel was a great backdrop to take a picture of the car before we headed out into the Yorkshire Dales.

Ryukyu Weave

Learning about the different types of Ryukyu textiles, dyeing techniques, and clothing design is another project I shall begin in the near future. Many changes happening in 2015, which means that blog is going to be a little sporadic for the first few months of the year. Stay tuned 🙂

Kelvin Mesmin Model Portfolio Shoot

Male model Kelvin Mesmin wanted to update the images in his portfolio. Agents like to have a selection of recent images to show clients. We spent the day shooting and got a great set of pics. I shot with the Pentax 645Z, so I can give the client the highest resolution files. I used generator powered (Profoto 7a) lighting in the studio, and then the Profoto B1 to add some magical light on location.
