I was told that the black skin is done by mixing ash from a wood fire with butter. This is then smeared onto the skin to create the traditional tribal style of the Nomba.

Members of the Eyarokawe tribe had wonderful interesting faces, and their headdresses reminded me of Tina Turner. I believe the tusks in their mouths are from wild boar. The young kid above, would probably win the award for most adorable child in Papua New Guinea.

Light Painting Advanced Class
Three pics from the third night of light painting. We were creating our images as a team, so credit for each image must go to all members of the group, rather than just the person with the finger on the shutter.
